Spanish Oasis in Carmel is designed for comfort, relaxation, and extended stays. These policies and house rules help ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests and protect the home, gardens, and surrounding neighborhood.
General Policies
Minimum Stay: 30 nights
Maximum Occupancy: 8 guests
Primary Renter Age: 35+
Quiet Hours: 10 PM to 8 AM
Parties & Events: Not permitted
Smoking/Vaping: Not allowed anywhere on the property
Subletting: Not permitted; only registered guests may stay overnight
Children: Must be supervised at all times due to large gardens and multiple outdoor areas
Pet Policy
Dog Limit: Up to 2 dogs total, including service animals; all must be disclosed at booking
Age: No puppies under 1 year
Behavior: No dogs that dig, chew, or are destructive
Room Restrictions: Large dogs are not allowed in the carpeted Seagrass Suite or Carmel Beach rooms
Supervision: Dogs must be supervised or safely crated
Furniture: Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds
Pool: Dogs are not allowed in the pool
Cleanup: Owners must promptly clean up pet waste
Damage: Pet‑related damage or excessive cleaning will incur charges
Pool & Spa Rules
Safety: Swim at your own risk; no lifeguard
Supervision: Children must be supervised at all times
Restrictions: No diving, running, or glass near the pool or spa
Heating: Optional add‑on when available
Covers: Replace pool and spa covers when not in use
Parking & Access
Parking: Driveway parking for up to 4 vehicles
Street Parking: Not permitted
EV Charging: Public charging stations available within one mile
Entry: Smart lock codes provided prior to arrival
Cleaning & Departure
Dishes: Load dishes into the dishwasher
Items: Return any moved items (furniture, games, beach gear, etc.) to their original placement
Trash: Follow instructions in the welcome guide
BBQs: Leave reasonably clean and replace covers
Mid‑Stay Cleaning: Available upon request for an additional fee
Registered Guests Only: The home is reserved for registered overnight guests.
Day Visitors: Outside guests are welcome during the day but must be approved in advance.
Limits: Visitor numbers must remain small and appropriate for quiet residential use.
Supervision: The primary renter must be present whenever outside guests are on the property.
Pool & Spa: Outside guests may not use the pool or spa.
Overnight Stays: Outside guests are not permitted to stay overnight.
Gatherings: Large gatherings, parties, or events are not allowed.
Outside Guests
Technology & Connectivity
Wi‑Fi Equipment: Do not unplug or disturb any Wi‑Fi pucks
Main System: Do not unplug or move the main hardware in the Seagull Room; this disrupts internet service for the entire property
Safety & Security
Cameras: Exterior cameras monitor entry points and garden areas only
Fire Safety: Fires limited to gas fireplaces and the gas fire table
Restrictions: No wood‑burning fires and no lit candles
Emergency Info: Provided in the welcome guide
Landscaping & Gardens
Garden Access: Guests may pick herbs, vegetables, dahlias, and citrus for personal use
Limits: Pick only what you will enjoy during your stay
Protection: Do not disturb other landscaping, garden beds, or potted plants
Restrictions: No digging or plant removal
Neighbors: Maintain quiet enjoyment of the area
Furniture: Do not move large furniture pieces
Décor: Do not alter décor or artwork
Commercial Use: Filming, photo shoots, or business activities require prior approval

Payment Schedule: Outlined during booking
Cancellation Terms: Provided during booking and in the rental agreement
Agreement: Must be signed to finalize the reservation
