About the Villa

Family Room
The Family Room is the villa’s central gathering space — sunlit, spacious, and seamlessly connected to the dining area and garden beyond.
Spanish Oasis has been part of one family’s story for more than half a century. Originally a modest Carmel cottage purchased in 1967, it evolved over decades into a sun‑filled villa surrounded by oaks and gardens. Kristi grew up here, climbing those same trees and tending her first vegetable patch at age seven.
After inheriting the home in 2019, Kristi and her husband Rob lovingly renewed it — adding character to the bedrooms, modernizing with smart appliances, and expanding the gardens with raised beds for vegetables and dahlias. Their care preserves the villa’s history while giving it fresh life.
Spanish Oasis remains a well‑loved family home, not just a vacation retreat — a place shaped by generations and tended with devotion.
A Family Legacy

Spanish Oasis in Carmel
A private Mediterranean retreat above the canyon, wrapped in sun, gardens, and quiet.
Set on nearly an acre on one of the quietest streets in Carmel by the Sea, Spanish Oasis is a rare Mediterranean villa with sweeping views over the oak forest, Mission Trail, and the distant Santa Lucia mountains. The home opens to an expansive, sun washed deck — a true outdoor living space with gardens, chaise lounges, a luxury fire table, and one of the very few private pools within Carmel city limits. It’s a place where mornings begin with birdsong and espresso, and evenings settle into golden light over the canyon.
Inside, the villa blends Spanish character with modern comfort. A fully remodeled 550 sq ft Family Room opens to the Expansive Deck and Chef's Kitchen, creating a bright, seamless space for gathering. The gourmet kitchen features new smart appliances, an espresso machine, and everything needed for cooking, entertaining, or simply enjoying a slow coastal morning. For larger groups, the Formal Living Room and Dining Room — anchored by a carved Spanish table that seats eight — offer elegant spaces for conversation and shared meals.
The four bedrooms each have their own personality. The Seagull Room is spacious and airy, with skylights, a reading nook, French doors to the garden, a desk, and a TV. The Carmel Beach Room overlooks the oak forest and features a velvet chaise for reading and generous storage. These two rooms share a beautiful natural stone bathroom with a large corner shower.
The Seagrass Room Suite, bright and cozy, sits off the front patio and includes its own private stone bathroom with a skylight and glass enclosed tub/shower.
The Master Suite is a serene retreat with windows on two sides framing the canyon and forest. Its marble bathroom includes a step down shower large enough for two, abundant storage, a TV, Bluetooth Bose system, and a cushioned window seat perfect for reading. The king bed is exceptionally comfortable.
With multiple living spaces — from the step down Conversation Pit with fireplace to the Bar and Breakfast Nook — the villa is designed for both togetherness and quiet corners. It’s ideal for families, groups of friends, or corporate retreats. Remote workers will find plenty of peaceful spaces to set up for the day.
Outside the gates, Carmel by the Sea awaits. Walk to town, to the Mission, or to Carmel’s world famous beaches. Explore Mission Trail right from the base of the property. Drive minutes to Pebble Beach golf, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Carmel Valley wine tasting, or the dramatic Big Sur coastline. Three beaches — Carmel Beach, Carmel River Beach, and Monastery Beach — are all close by, each with its own character, wildlife, and views.
Carmel is famously Dog Friendly, and the villa welcomes well behaved pets with responsible owners. The white sand beach at the base of Ocean Avenue is off leash and joyful, and many shops and restaurants offer water bowls and warm greetings for furry visitors.
The villa features a large Circular Driveway that accommodates multiple vehicles comfortably, providing easy off-street parking for guests and ensuring a smooth arrival experience. The garage is not included in standard rentals, as it is used for owner storage throughout most of the year. For special events like the Concours, the garage may be made available as a premium add-on for guests who wish to store show vehicles in a protected space.
The property includes a completely separate long-term apartment beneath one corner of the home. The resident is quiet, respectful, and uses no shared spaces.
Spanish Oasis is a 5-Star Rated Property on both VRBO and HomeExchange Collections — a place where guests return for the sun, the quiet, the beauty, and the feeling of being tucked away in their own private corner of Carmel.
